AIthena at the RTR Conference 2026 in Brussels

The AIthena project was represented at the Road Transport Research (RTR) Conference 2026 in Brussels from 10 to 12 February, with the coordinator and a few project partners in attendance. This strengthened the project’s visibility within the European road transport research and innovation community.

During the conference, Dr Oihana Otaegui (AIthena project coordinator, VICOMTECH) delivered a presentation highlighting the project’s results, outcomes, and relevance to advancing trustworthy, human-centred artificial intelligence in the transport domain, specifically in Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM). The presentation provided an opportunity to position the project within the broader European research landscape and engage with stakeholders from the worlds of research, industry, and policy.

AIthena’s presence at the RTR 2026 conference facilitated knowledge exchange with other EU-funded projects and initiatives and promoted dialogue on how AI-driven solutions can address societal, technological, and regulatory challenges in the field of road transport.

Participation in major events such as the RTR Conference highlights AIthena’s dedication to engaging actively with the European research community and disseminating the results and impact of the consortium’s work.
