AIthena at TRA 2026 in Budapest

On 19 May 2026 Silvia Barbaro, IRU’s Research and Innovation Project Manager, presented a paper titled Integrating Trustworthy AI into CCAM: Enabling Uptake at Vehicle, Mobility Ecosystem and Industry Levels. The paper was co-authored by Silvia Barbaro, Oihana Otaegui Madurga, Bernhard Hillbrand, Ilma Okanovic, Michael Stolz, and Ted Zotos (IRU, VICOMTECH, VIF).

The presentation took place during Technical Session 4: Strategic Frameworks for Connected Transport Systems at TRA 2026.

It focuses on how trustworthy, human-centric AI can support the deployment of CCAM at the levels of vehicles, mobility systems and industries, paying particular attention to explainability, robustness, transparency, standards and regulatory alignment.

On 21 May 2026 Lakshya Pandit, Project Manager at Rupprecht Consult, presented a paper titled Human-Centric Trustworthy AI: AITHENA’s Methodological Framework for CCAM and Key Insights. The paper was co-authored by Lakshya Pandit, Bonnie Fenton, Daniel Franco, and Justin Hidalgo (Rupprecht Consult, IDIADA).

The presentation focused on the development of the human-centric trustworthy AI methodology within the AIthena project and on embedding trust and human principles into the development of automated mobility systems.

It took place during TRA 2026 in Technical Session 7.1: Automated Mobility Deployment Strategies.
