AIthena featured in AustriaTech’s Monitoring Report 2025 on Automated Mobility

The AIthena project has been included in the Automated Mobility in Austria – Monitoring Report 2025, Austria’s annual reference publication on developments in connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM). Published by AustriaTech, the report provides a comprehensive overview of the key technological, regulatory and strategic trends that are shaping automated mobility in Austria and across Europe.

The 2025 edition highlights the transition year in which automated mobility moves increasingly from research and pilot testing towards regular operations. It documents national and international initiatives, test deployments on public roads, evolving legal frameworks and European research projects that address safety, governance and societal acceptance. Attention is given to emerging topics such as the use of artificial intelligence in automated driving, large-scale testing, standardised evaluation methods and integrating automated solutions into public transport systems.

In the context of Europe, the report highlights AIthena project as a leading research initiative that tackles the issue of trustworthy artificial intelligence in automated mobility. It is presented as providing practical methodologies, frameworks and technical tools to support the development of safe, transparent and ethically aligned AI systems for high-risk mobility applications. By linking technical robustness with ethical governance and regulatory compliance, particularly in view of the EU AI Act, the project is recognised as promoting responsible innovation and fostering greater public trust in automated driving technologies.

The Automated Mobility in Austria – Monitoring Report 2025 is available to read in both German and English.
