AIthena project report on data sharing and integration with European data tools

The latest AIthena publication: ‘D6.2 Report on Data Sharing and Integration with European Data Lakes, OpenData and OpenTool’ outlines the project’s strategy for enabling transparent, interoperable and FAIR-aligned data sharing to support the development of trustworthy AI in connected, cooperative and automated mobility (CCAM).

Deliverable 6.2 provides an in-depth review of European data lakes, open data initiatives and open tool ecosystems. It details the current legal frameworks and interoperability requirements relevant to mobility research and AI-driven innovation, as well as the strategic enablers. The analysis identifies the strengths of existing platforms, as well as the gaps that need to be addressed in order to support CCAM-specific research and development.

A significant portion of the deliverable focuses on integrating AIthena outcomes with emerging European mobility data spaces. It describes the frameworks, building blocks and sector-specific implementations considered in this process. The report also evaluates the technical and organisational gaps that still need to be addressed to enable effective, scalable CCAM R&D data sharing.

Supporting trustworthy and open AI research

By aligning its data-sharing approach with European open science standards and future mobility data space infrastructures, Deliverable D6.2 strengthens AIthena’s dedication to transparency, collaboration and the development of trustworthy AI.
